This handcrafted leather feather pendant showcases a laser engraved bone tab with an image of a crow or raven sitting beneath a crescent moon and stars. The bone piece is wire wrapped with black wire, and accented with a single grey moonstone bead. The black leather corvid feather behind it has been glazed with a soft wash of metallic silver that can be quite subtle or rather bold, depending on the lighting angle. Note that some of the photos seem to give the feather a blue-ish tint; the true color is black with a dark silver, almost pewter wash.
The pendant measures about 4.25″ long, and it hangs from a black leather lace that is adjustable from 24-36″ long (this can be cut shorter if desired). It can be worn super long or medium length, and it layers beautifully with other necklaces.
As with all of my leather craft, this piece was created using high quality materials and over 25 years of leather working skill. Beauty and quality craftsmanship are important to me, so I don’t do “quick and dirty” work; I patiently design, carve, shape, paint and seal each piece. It’s a slow process with many steps, but the end result is an original handmade work of wearable art that you can be proud to gift or cherish for years to come.
My selection of these quirky old bone beads is quite limited, so I won’t be making many of these engraved bone pieces!
