This leather sugar skull mask was painted black with a vibrant flower motif in shimmering shades of purple, burgundy and green with white accents. At the forehead is a sculpted leather flower in electric purple, accented with a brilliantly colored vintage glass flower cabochon. The colors in this day of the dead mask are vibrant and joyful, and the funky folk art design has a playful feel.
It’s a half skull mask, and it measures about 7.5″ wide by 6″ high. It ties with elegant and durable stretch lace straps. Like all of my masks, this piece was entirely handcrafted from top quality materials, including premium tooling leather, artist grade acrylic paints, a flexible water resistant top coat, vintage glass gems, and beautiful coordinating ties.
These photos are less than stellar – it started to rain while I was taking them, so you may notice “speckles” or spots on the mask and background; not to worry, these are raindrops rather than flaws or discoloration on the mask. I’ll get some better photos when I’m able!
