I was inspired to make these monarch butterfly earrings after Hurricane Harvey touched down in Texas (the monarch is the TX state butterfly). My intention was to create a few pieces to help raise money for disaster relief. Before they were completed, natural disaster struck again in Florida, Puerto Rico, and now California. Thus, 50% of the proceeds from these earrings will be donated to the American Red Cross through the end of 2017.
Thes earrings were handcrafted from premium tooling leather. They’re painted in orange and black with accents of white. They are accented with small black glass flower beads.
The wings dangle from black niobium shepherd’s hook earwires, which are supposed to be great for those with metal allergies. The earrings measure about 2.75″ total, and they should hang about 2.25″ from the base of the earlobe. Please note that I have 4 pair of these earrings available right now – because they’re handmade, you’ll see minor differences from one pair to the next, but they’ll all be of the same colors, style and quality as the ones shown here.
These earrings have great movement, and they’ll swing beautifully as you move.
