October Trick or Treat GIVEAWAY!

black bat leather hair stick barrette

Happy October! Let’s celebrate with a little Trick or Treat Giveaway…

TRICK:
Thanks to everyone loving up these little bat barrettes! They’re flying off the shelves 🦇
Sadly, I’ve been tipped off that the counterfeiters love them too. So please beware – I only sell on my Beadmask website and my Beadmask Etsy shop. I don’t use any other business names, and I don’t sell on Amazon – not even when the listings use my exact photos. Please don’t fall for that old trick – there’s no telling what you’ll get when you buy from these ©reeps!

TREAT:
As thanks to all who support my craft, I’m giving away two of these bat barrettes on October 16th!
To enter, just leave a comment with a kind word or two. I’ll pick one winner from my Instagram page and one from my Facebook page. Make me smile, make me laugh, and help me to break this ©opycat spell by reminding me of the good people who make my job worthwhile!

A Halloween Treat

leather masks

This customer message was probably one of the best treats of my Halloween season!:

“This was, by far, my favorite Halloween costume I ever had. Your mask stopped people passing by me in the streets!!

I was (Greek goddess) Persephone. (If you are not familiar, she is goddess of springtime flowers & vegetation. Her story explains why we have seasons. I love Greek mythology. 💚) My husband was a Forest Demon.

No joke, the second I saw your mask, I knew it belonged to me. I had already envisioned my entire outfit by the time I had paypaled you the money.

And make no mistake, I did not get the mask to go with my outfit. The entire outfit, down to the very last detail, was all to go with the mask. It deserved no less than a godly presentation😊

A million thanks. Your stunning creation produced a million smiles on Saturday. As well as a night I will never forget. And I will treasure it indefinitely. 😊💚🌺

I love it when people connect with my work like this, and it means the world that she took the time to tell me about it! THIS is why I love my job.

PS. His mask was made by fellow mask artisan, Larry Wood of Fantasy Guilde Studios. Wood’s masks always have so much character, and this one is no exception.

Halloween Ordering Info 2016 (or “he who hesitates is lost”)

leather masks in progress
leather masks in progress

As this photo suggests, I’m already up to my elbows in Halloween prep! I’ve had several requests for custom costumes, so it seems like a good time to let everyone know that commission spots will be very limited this year. Like, extremely limited. So if you’re hoping to have something made from scratch to your specifications, you should definitely contact me soon! To order a one of a kind costume piece, please visit the “Custom Work” section of my website, and fill out the inquiry form there. This form outlines the info that I’ll need in order to understand your project, and it will really streamline the process for both of us. My commission spots fill up quickly, so please don’t put this off!

If you’re simply hoping to have one of my existing designs painted in your colors, I can usually be a bit more flexible. My turn around time for these types of orders is generally around two weeks before shipping, though that wait time gets longer the closer we get to Halloween. You can check out my “Made to Order” section to find mask styles that can be made in your choice of colors.

If you’re in a hurry, please visit my “Ready to Ship” section, for a selection of masks that are in stock and ready to ship quickly.

Last but not least, I’ll be adding a small selection of unique, one of a kind masks and costume accessories this year. Keep an eye on my website, as well as my Facebook fan page, in order to see these pieces as they’re added.

And just to reiterate: Halloween commissions will be very limited this year. If you’d like a custom costume, now’s the time to get in touch. Please don’t be one of those silly people who contacts me three days (or even 3 weeks) before Halloween in hopes of commissioning a one of a kind piece!

Opening up commissions soon!

Halloween 2015 Commission Info Coming Soon!
Halloween 2015 Commission Info Coming Soon!

Hello friends! I’m already getting quite a few requests for custom work for Halloween. On that note, I have good news and bad news:

* The bad news (just to get it out of the way) is that commission slots will be very limited this season. My apologies in advance, but I’m taking on several new commitments this fall, and I know that I’ll need to be protective of my health and sanity if I’m to accomplish all that I hope to!

* The GOOD news is that I’ll start accepting custom orders again very soon, and past customers will get first dibs on those commission slots. If we’ve worked together before – and especially if we have already discussed your idea – your project will have priority.

Stay tuned, as I’ll be posting more details soon!

Halloween 2014 Shipping Deadlines

I’m getting lots of panicked emails and phone calls asking if masks will make it in time for Halloween. The abridged answer is:

Maybe – it depends on where you live and how much you want to pay for shipping…

US customers should be fine for Halloween delivery, as long as you order by Sunday October 26th and you select priority mail. If you’re on the west coast, you can probably even push that to Monday the 27th. If you’re overseas, or planning to order after that, I strongly suggest upgrading to express mail.

I ship very quickly, via USPS. This is an approximate outline of transit times for their different tiers of service — they’re usually pretty good about these timelines, but express mail is the only service that offers a guaranteed delivery date:

  • 1st Class Mail typically takes 3-7 days within the US, and 10-30 days internationally
  • Priority Mail usually takes 2-3 days within the US, and 7-10 days internationally
  • Express Mail takes 24-48 hours within the US, and 3-5 business days internationally

Last but not least, I’m sorry, but I’m not able to accommodate custom orders at this time (my deadlines for Halloween commissions were in September this time of year really is that busy). Similarly, I have disabled all “Made to Order” listings until after Halloween 2014. Selections are now limited to in stock items only. On the plus side, I have some great items in stock and I’ll continue to add new and wonderful items all the way through this weekend. Orders will be mailed very quickly, via the shipping method of your choice, and I am happy to help if you have questions — just ask!
