Heads up! My “Made to Order” costume designs will be de-listed on Wednesday September 15th. After that, my Halloween offerings will be limited to options that are “Ready to Ship”. I may or may not make these designs available for order again after Halloween – it just depends on how crazy my order queue gets (it’s been pretty crazy, if that’s any indicator).⠀ ⠀ So if you’ve been planning to order one of these designs, now’s the time! ⠀ ⠀ I will have a few more one of a kind + ready made offerings before the end of the spooky season. I strongly encourage you to order your costume items early this year.⠀
This customer message was probably one of the best treats of my Halloween season!:
“This was, by far, my favorite Halloween costume I ever had. Your mask stopped people passing by me in the streets!!
I was (Greek goddess) Persephone. (If you are not familiar, she is goddess of springtime flowers & vegetation. Her story explains why we have seasons. I love Greek mythology. 💚) My husband was a Forest Demon.
No joke, the second I saw your mask, I knew it belonged to me. I had already envisioned my entire outfit by the time I had paypaled you the money.
And make no mistake, I did not get the mask to go with my outfit. The entire outfit, down to the very last detail, was all to go with the mask. It deserved no less than a godly presentation😊
A million thanks. Your stunning creation produced a million smiles on Saturday. As well as a night I will never forget. And I will treasure it indefinitely. 😊💚🌺”
I love it when people connect with my work like this, and it means the world that she took the time to tell me about it! THIS is why I love my job.
PS. His mask was made by fellow mask artisan, Larry Wood of Fantasy Guilde Studios. Wood’s masks always have so much character, and this one is no exception.

Woke up to these gorgeous customer photos this morning! 2fit_samba added more jewels and beads to this leather crown to create her Lemanja goddess of the sea costume for the Notting Hill carnival in London Uk. As always, I’m so grateful for your photos – they’re a beautiful reminder of why I love my job!
I recently crafted this snow angel headpiece for beautiful Leonie of Nova Star Productions. It felt a bit strange to be working on a winter themed piece in the dead of summer, but since my client lives in Australia, it actually makes sense! I think this is the 3rd or 4th headdress that she has commissioned for her stilt walkers performance troupe. They perform at festivals and events down under, and their job is essentially to spread magic and make people smile!
Well then! This one was a difficult birth, but I’m happy with the end result and so glad that she made it to her new owner.

The first time I worked with Miss K was 6 years ago, when her mother commissioned me to create custom Halloween masks for her and her sister (K is the peacock). This family was lovely to work with. Their mother let them design their costumes, and it was a lot of fun to try to actualize the kids’ ideas. I was honored to learn that mom had special shadow boxes built for these masks so that the girls can enjoy them year round.

So when mom approached me recently for this project, I was happy to oblige. Especially when she gave me the background story: Miss K had a school report that required her to dress up as a historical figure and tell their story. She chose Lady Trieu, who is often called “the Vietnamese Joan of Arc”. She was a fierce rebel warrior who lead her people in to battle. I LOVE that K chose such a powerful role model for her school report! It was a pleasure to craft this headpiece based on her vision of this historical figure. The design was inspired by a crown worn by Miss Vietnam, as well as her mother’s tattoo. Her report was a hit, and her smile makes the costume.
Forgive me for being so quiet of late! I’m still creating, just haven’t been able to share much. Have been using this time to peck away at commissions, and giving time and space for new ideas to germinate.
This electric blue peacock mask was a recent custom order. I love how well it goes with this headpiece, and may just have to make another in this color way.
This is the little corner where I toss new work that needs to be photographed. Things are really starting to pile up there, so I’m gonna try to make a dent in it today!
As this photo suggests, I’m already up to my elbows in Halloween prep! I’ve had several requests for custom costumes, so it seems like a good time to let everyone know that commission spots will be very limited this year. Like, extremely limited. So if you’re hoping to have something made from scratch to your specifications, you should definitely contact me soon! To order a one of a kind costume piece, please visit the “Custom Work” section of my website, and fill out the inquiry form there. This form outlines the info that I’ll need in order to understand your project, and it will really streamline the process for both of us. My commission spots fill up quickly, so please don’t put this off!
Last but not least, I’ll be adding a small selection of unique, one of a kind masks and costume accessories this year. Keep an eye on my website, as well as my Facebook fan page, in order to see these pieces as they’re added.
And just to reiterate: Halloween commissions will be very limited this year. If you’d like a custom costume, now’s the time to get in touch. Please don’t be one of those silly people who contacts me three days (or even 3 weeks) before Halloween in hopes of commissioning a one of a kind piece!
