“Moonlight Masquerade” is the newest exhibition by the Fantasy Artists of Etsy Team (AKA “Fae Team”). It features an excellent assortment of masks, costume accessories, jewelry, illustrations and more. I’ve included a small sampling via the screenshot to the right, but there is much more to see on the team’s website — you can see it all here.

Summer is almost here in Seattle and given our propensity for rain, that is most definitely something to celebrate! The summer Solstice is June 20th this year, and we’re celebrating it just a touch early at the Fremont Fair. The big parade (and infamous nekkid bicyclists) happened yesterday — today’s theme is “Dads and Dogs”. Other activities include yoga, art cars, food and — you guessed it, vendors!
You’ll find me set up with the I <3 Rummage show in the garage beneath the Red Door Alehouse. Please come on down and say hi! 🙂
I was recently approached by Julie of Julie Ray Photography, who was planning to attend a workshop here in Seattle. She wanted to know if she could use my Snow Queen headdress for a concept shoot during the workshop. I get these requests from time to time, and while I am definitely open to them, I also tend to be somewhat cautious. Julie quickly eased any concerns that I may have had, because she was extremely professional, positive and forthright in all of our communication. She outlined her project in detail, and was very flexible and accommodating.
She treated my work with care and respect, and I am beyond thrilled with her photos! Photography is just not my strong suit, whereas her talent and skill are evident. The difference between my photos of this piece and the ones that you see here are night and day. I love the way that she created a mood/theme, and the use of snowy crystals on the model’s brows and lips is such a great touch.
This was a wonderful opportunity for me, and I hope, for Julie as well. She seemed very happy with the workshop that she attended, so I think it was good for her too. I love when artists are able to work together and help each other out! 🙂
