This wearable art mermaid mask is rich in detail and opulence, perfect for an elegant masquerade ball!
MEASUREMENTS + MATERIALS
✭ Materal: tooling leather, dye, paint, sealant, and quality ribbon ties.
✭ Mask measures approximately 11″ wide by 5″ high at the highest and widest points.
✭ Ties with gorgeous and durable stretch elastic ties (included).
Sculpted from premium tooling leather, and painted in shimmering iridescent hues of white, silver, periwinkle and indigo. The color is sealed with a protective top coat.
The surface of the leather is embellished with hand sewn glass beadwork. The beads include top quality glass and crystal beads, vintage West German glass cabochons, Swarovski crystal, Czech fire polish, dagger beads, duo and O beads, and Japanese glass seed beads ranging from tiny size 15/0 beads on up to size 8/0.
All beadwork is stitched directly through the leather. The Swarovski crystal refracts light, creating rainbows and sparkles around the wearer. I was careful to keep all lead crystal away from the eyes, so these play of light effects should not be problematic on stage.
This mannequin head is a bit wonky ~ it’s much narrower than a real person’s head, and it’s also tilted at an angle. Because of this, the beaded fringe hangs a bit funny in these photos and the fit is not 100% true to life; it looks much nicer on a real live human!
