When I showed these pieces to my friend, she saw magic wands. They’re intended as hair accessories, but I like that idea too! However you enjoy them, I hope they’ll add beauty (and maybe magic) to your world.
This wooden hair stick is an older piece from my stash, made by Ed/ Eduard Phillips of Pacific Mercantile about a decade ago. It’s a piece of old growth Oregon maple, with a soft blue stain. Some of the photos make the stick look purple or violet, but it’s more of a denim blue with just a hint of periwinkle/purple. Very pretty!
I’ve embellished the stick with fine glass beadwork, set with glass beads and cabochons. The topper is a gorgeous piece of tumbled blue kyanite with subtle iridescence. The topper stone is somewhat flexible, yet very secure. The beadwork details are different on each side.
In some of the photos, the blue glass stone at the center looks like it has scratches or blobs. They’re just reflections, the vintage stone is in great shape!
It measures just over 7.25″ from tip to tip. The usable styling length of the hair stick is about 5″, and the beaded topper adds another 2.25″.
Some of the photos show multiple sticks from this little collection. This listing is for the blue one only.
