This black winged leather headdress is rich in detail – and so much prettier than photographed! It was handcrafted from premium tooling leather, using my own original pattern. The leather was hand cut, carved and sculpted, before being dyed, painted and then sealed with a protective top coat. The dominant color is black, with accents of iridescent indigo along the forehead and feather tips, with just a hint of iridescent green at the outermost edges of the feathers.
The forehead is adorned with a panel of black Venetian lace, accented with a beaded labradorite cabochon with striking blue flash. At the inner corner of each wing is a little medallion of iridescent black peacock feathers and rooster feathers, accented with a little laser cut leather filigree bit.
This headpiece measures approximately 19″ wide, by about 6.5″ high at the highest and widest points. The leather work does not go all the way around your head (it’s just the front portion that you see in the photos) and it ties on – like a mask – using gorgeous and durable stretch elastic ties. The back side has multiple connection points, in case you’d prefer to attach it using alligator clips instead.
