These luna moth barrettes are among my favorites to make, and I take great care to make each one a little different from the next. They are miniature works of wearable art!
This one showcases an earthier color palette, and the iridescent colors are far more vibrant and complex than these photos suggest. It features shimmering shades of olive green, rust, bronze, purple, violet, champagne and vanilla. These photos show several of the past barrettes that I’ve done in this color combination; as you can see, there are unique variations from one to the next, but all share the same design, colors and quality.
When flat, it measures about 5.25″ wide by 4.25″ high at the highest and widest points. You can choose the barrette finding that works best for you (see 4th photo for different barrette types):
* wooden hair stick
* brass spiral hair stick
* copper spiral hair stick
* quality French clip barrette
You’ll notice that some photos show this piece alongside another very similar luna moth, done in more of an emerald green with jewel toned accents. That color variation can be found here.
In all of the photos that show two moths, the emerald color is on the top and the olive color is on the bottom. This listing is for the olive green version.
A couple of the last few photos show past variations of this design next to a ruler, and also being worn, just to give a better sense of the size and scale. You’ll receive the olive green moth shown alone in the first three photos.
