This quirky old (vintage?) bone bead was repurposed with a laser engraved henna design that covers the entire front surface. The back side is plain, and the bone has been aged with a coffee or tea stain the brings out all of the grooves and striations.
The pendant was wire wrapped with sterling silver wire, and accented with a single chrysocolla bead. The stone features rich bold shades of blue and green, and these colors are echoed in the hand dyed ribbon cord. The ribbon neckline is accented with 4 glass beads in matte hues of emerald and sapphire.
The ribbon can be adjusted from about 16″ up to 28″, so it works well with just about any neckline. This piece also layers nicely with other necklaces, allowing you to dress it up or down according to your mood.
My selection of these quirky old bone beads is quite limited, so I won’t be making many of these engraved bone pieces!
