This unique leather hair accessory is strikingly pretty. It’s a fall oak leaf in deep crimson, with burgundy accents. This piece was completely hand crafted, using fine tooling leather and high quality acrylics.
The 7.75″ hammered copper stick runs through the stem of the leaf, ending in a spiral. Two smaller leather leaves dangle from the spiral, suspended from an antique copper chain. They are accented with wirework and carnelian agate stones.
The leaf measures about 5.5″ when flat, but it curves up to be much smaller when worn. The holes are spaced at about 3.75″ apart, so it’s best suited for thick hair.
As you can see from the last photo, I have a pair of earrings that matches this barrette nicely. The earrings are sold separately, and you can find them here.
As with all of my leather craft, these pieces are created using high quality materials and over 25 years of leather working skill. Beauty and quality craftsmanship are important to me, so I don’t do “quick and dirty” work; I patiently design, carve, shape, dye, paint and seal each piece. This is more time consuming than other methods, but the end result is a handmade work of wearable art that you can be proud to gift or cherish for years to come.
