This autumn leaf leather shawl pin was hand painted in rich scarlet red and burgundy. It’s a wonderfully versatile little accessory, in that it can be used as a shawl clasp, or as a ponytail holder or small barrette.
MEASUREMENTS + MATERIALS
✭ Leaf measures approximately 2.5″ high x 5″ wide at the tallest and widest points
✭ Distance between holes = 2.75″ apart
✭ Wooden stick measures about 5.75″
✭ Hand crafted from tooling leather, dye, acrylic paints & natural wood
The little leaf was modeled after a red oak, with its spiked lobes. It fastens with a whittled wood stick with a lovely organic twig-like shape (sorry, but I forget the wood type – this stick was made by a fellow Etsy artisan who does beautifully rustic work).
The distance between holes is about 2.75″, which is a small spacing. If you’re using it as a hair accessory, it will hold a smaller sized section of hair. For my thick hair, this size works well as a ponytail holder or for little top knots. If your hair is fine, or not too long, it might hold a bit more.
